Eros and Thanatos is a series of pictures I took in 2004.
Psychoanalysis refers to Eros and Thanatos as instincts of life and death, respectively. But we all know that sometimes difference between things is not that clear: they mix together being part of the whole and everything is subject to our personal interpretation.
I wanted to represent life, wounds, death, pain, focusing on blood running out of nose and mouth: but blood is life as well, it takes oxigen and nourishment. I wanted to confuse the symbols as it happens in reality: beside any project what struck me most has been the result after make up: ceruse cancelled the whole mimic giving unexpected extreme power to gaze.
